View from the Mount of the Beatitudes where Jesus began his public ministry
Looking at Mount Hermon from the bus as we drove to Banias (Caearea Philippi)
Caesarea Philippi, also known as Banias, where sacrifices to the god Pan were made. Was referred to as the "Gates of Hell" in 3rd century BC. It was here that Jesus pronounced Simon "Peter" and the rock upon which He would build His church.
